November History Hour: 125 Years of Firehall No. 2

Built in 1901 at the corner of Prince Avenue and Hill Street, Old Fire Hall No. 2 has been a familiar landmark in the Classic City's Cobbham neighborhood for now 125 years. Once home to horse-drawn fire wagons and the firefighters who served a growing city, the building has since found new life as the headquarters of Historic Athens. Presented by Tommy Valentine, PhD, Joey Briggs, Historic Athens Research Fellow, and Cari Goetcheus, Professor of Historic Preservation at the University of Georgia.

History Hour with Historic Athens One Story is a FREE public history education program held at the Lyndon House Arts Center on the first Tuesday of each month with complimentary lunch from Rashe's Cuisine available on a first come, first serve basis, including vegan options. We’ll see you Tuesday, November 3rd at noon!
