December History Hour: Athens Places in Peril 2025 Announcement & Updates

Join us on Tuesday, December 2nd at noon for our monthly History Hour! This month, we’ll be unveiling our highly anticipated 2025 Athens Places in Peril inductees and sharing important updates on past sites.

Founded by Historic Athens in 2019, the Athens Places in Peril initiative uplifts and guides grassroots preservation efforts across Athens-Clarke County. Each year, we open public nominations to create a community-driven list of historic places at risk of being lost forever. At this month’s program, we’ll announce the 2025 inductees and provide updates on previous years’ sites with special guests Beth & Steven Brown.

History Hour is a free monthly education program part of Historic Athens One Story. Each month’s History Hour is at the Lyndon House Arts Center, every 1st Tuesday of the month. Complimentary lunch from Rashe’s Cuisine is provided on a first come, first serve basis with vegan options available. This event is free and open to all- see you there!
