October History Hour: Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month! This month-long, nationally recognized celebration is observed from Sept. 15-Oct. 15 and celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of the Hispanic community. This History Hour event we’ll share more on local Latinx history and community with members of DIA, U-LEAD, Pinewoods community, and CLASE. We’ll be joined by Dr. Oscar Jiménez-Castellanos, Esther Carillo, and Beto Mendoz for this special event.

Join us to learn more at our upcoming History Hour with Historic Athens One Story, a free monthly education program. Each month’s History Hour is at the Lyndon House Arts Center, every 1st Tuesday of the month. Complimentary lunch from Rashe’s Cuisine is provided on a first come, first serve basis with vegan options available. This event is free and open to the public
