Experience the charm and history of the Bloomfield Historic District with neighborhood resident and Historic Athens Trustee Jeremy Field. This picturesque area, dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, offers a fascinating glimpse into the architectural evolution of the era. As you stroll along Bloomfield Street and its intersecting avenues, you'll be surrounded by beautifully preserved residences showcasing a mix of Victorian Eclectic, American Foursquare, and Bungalow/Craftsman styles. Marvel at the intricate woodwork and decorative details that adorn these homes, and take note of the Tudor Revival influences in some of the houses. Our tour will also highlight the district's evolution, with the earliest Victorian-era houses from the 1890s on one end and the Bungalow- and Craftsman-style homes from the 1910s and 1920s on the other. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the history, architecture, and lush greenery of Bloomfield Historic District, a hidden gem in the heart of Athens.

Jeremy Field began his career working on construction in Northeast Georgia before discovering his passion for improving energy efficiency and sustainability in homes and commercial property. Jeremy resides in the Bloomfield Historic District and was recognized as the 2020 Historic Athens Trustee of the Year.
