Athens, Georgia – October 1, 2024 – Historic Athens Porchfest, the award-winning fall celebration of local music, history, and community, returns for its sixth year on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, from 1 PM to 7 PM. With 209 concerts on 209 porches spread throughout seven walkable historic neighborhoods, the free and family friendly festival promises to celebrate local musical talent and historic preservation. This year's Historic Athens Porchfest will be the largest edition of the event so far. Visitors to this year’s Historic Athens Porchfest will be able to experience free trolley rides in partnership with Athens Trolley Tours, providing easy access to various performance venues across multiple neighborhoods. In celebration of this new addition and Athens’s trolley history, Historic Athens has teamed up with Athentic Brewing Company to release a special Historic Athens Porchfest beer, On The Rails, available at Athentic Brewing Co. A new partnership with SoundCloud will offer attendees a SoundCloud Zone featuring free swag bags and insights about local artists. A SoundCloud Showcase on Historic Athens' website will promote Porchfest musicians and connect local talent with broader audiences. Historic Athens Porchfest 2024 is also partnering with Indie South to launch a new vendor market featuring local artisans, makers, and small businesses. Attendees can explore handmade goods and support local creatives. "These partnerships and new elements represent a wonderful evolution of Historic Athens Porchfest," said Denise Sunta, Engagement Coordinator for Historic Athens. "We’re thrilled to celebrate Athens’ musical talent and cultural history with even more ways for the community to enjoy the event."
